Shoplister Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Shoplister (“the app”) is a grocery list and home inventory app for iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Summary
- Your lists and library are stored on your device.
- We do not sell your data or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not require an account to use the app.
- Optional photos you attach to items stay on your device.
Information the app stores on your device
The app stores data locally so it can work offline. This may include:
- Grocery item names, quantities, and organization (home and store sections)
- Your shopping list and checked/unchecked state
- App preferences (appearance, language, sorting, and similar settings)
- Optional photos you choose to attach to library items
- Backup files you export or import when you use those features
This information is kept in on-device storage (for example, app storage and, where applicable, a shared app group container used by the Shoplister share extension on the same device).
Information we do not collect
Shoplister does not transmit your grocery data to our servers. We do not:
- Run cloud sync or household sharing in the current version of the app
- Collect your name, email address, or phone number through normal app use
- Use cross-app tracking or the App Tracking Transparency framework for advertising
- Embed third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs
Camera and photo library
If you choose to add a photo to an item, the app requests access to your camera and/or photo library. Images are saved locally for that item. We do not upload them to our servers.
Share extension
The optional share extension lets you add text to your shopping list from other apps. It reads a local catalog snapshot shared with the main app through Apple’s App Group mechanism on your device. That data is not sent to us.
Sharing you control
When you use system share sheets, export a backup, or send email to support, you choose what leaves your device through iOS. We do not receive that content unless you send it to us (for example, by contacting support).
Support email
If you contact us at support.shoplister@gmail.com, we receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and message contents) so we can respond. Please do not include sensitive personal information unless needed to resolve your issue.
Children’s privacy
Shoplister is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes (for example, if cloud sync or sharing features are added). The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
